To Become A Work Of Art

November 29, 2022

Vahiguru ji ka Khalsa, Vahiguru ji ki Fatih!

O’ Consciousness, you are an embodiment of the Light; recognize your Origin.” – Guru Granth Sahib 440

The Light is within us.

We pause.
We reflect.

Let us, for a moment, imagine that Infinite Wisdom lies within each of us, and all we need to do is access it.
The thought is frightening.
The thought is liberating.

How do we access it?

The Way:

Look at the goldsmith. The goldsmith works on the gold. He puts the raw gold in the blazing furnace to remove its dirt and impurities and then places the melted gold in a mold to give it shape. He hammers,  carves, and chisels it. This is the process for the raw gold to turn into a beautiful piece of jewelry. It requires the goldsmith’s concentration, patience, discipline, and knowledge of chiseling to turn a lump of gold into a work of art.

Similar is the process for the seeker who yearns to become a work of art and beauty.

Are we willing to be hammered, carved, and chiseled?

May we embody the Light within us.
May the Wisdom-Guru guide us!
