Gurmeet Kaur has revived the dying oral tradition of Baataa(n) or Punjabi folktales that have been handed down to us from generation to generation by bringing them alive in the form of beautifully illustrated books.

Her project Fascinating Folktales of Punjab is dedicated to publishing high quality Panjabi folk literature for children that is fun, educational and inspiring. It aims to connect children to Punjabi and Gurmukhi from a very early age while bringing the stories that are being forgotten back to life.

Since 2013, she has brought to you a set of 8, first ever bilingual folktale books that are beautifully illustrated to the hands of children in the diaspora, creating a new excitement in Punjabi literacy for children. These books have connected thousands of children, parents and grandparents to each other, to their Maa Boli and to the land of Panjab while teaching them good values in a playful way.
