Naujavan Sojhi - To develop youngsters who think like a Sikh. This program focuses on providing Sikh teens with a space to explore spiritual awareness, personal understanding, mutual understanding, moral character, and ethical awareness.
SikhRI, in partnership with the Kaur and Singh Academy (KASA), New Jersey, is hosting an online class for teens age 14 - 19.
In this session, we will discuss Sikhi in relation to social justice. We will explore ways to translate Sikh worldviews and responses into tangible action through allyship. We will discuss current social justice movements, like Black Lives Matter and the fight against Islamophobia. We will also explore the question of what it means to be an ally, uniting with other minority communities against rising white nationalism, all while being rooted in Gurbani, Tavarikh, and Rahit (or, Gurmat principles).
