In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to forget that time is more than a string of appointments and deadlines. The days blur. We move from one task to another. But beneath the surface noise, each day carries a quiet invitation—a call to pause, to reflect, to listen.
What if we approached each day not as something to manage but as something sacred?
Bhagat Kabir Ji’s Var Sat, preserved in the Guru Granth Sahib, transforms the seven days of the week into a spiritual map. Once associated with routine or superstition, each day becomes a reminder—subtle, profound—guiding us to live with deeper awareness:
For Tuesday, Bhagat Kabir Ji reflects:
“A seeker should grasp reality,
Know the way of the five thieves.
Having left the home, should not go outside—
Otherwise, the Sovereign will be displeased.”
These five thieves—lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego—rob us silently. Not just of serenity but of presence. They pull us away from ourselves, away from the One within. We may respond by retreating from the world or trying to mask our unrest. But Kabir Ji points us elsewhere—not toward escape but understanding. Not toward fear but toward transformation.
This body, this day, this life—they are not burdens. They are gifts.
Yes, the thieves exist. But so does the possibility of living in harmony with our desires rather than being ruled by them. We are not asked to become saints overnight. We are invited to become seekers—honest, aware, and anchored.
Each day is an opportunity.
To see clearly.
To live fully.
To connect deeply.
The question is simple:
Will we pause long enough to hear the message?
May Wisdom-Guru guide us!
