Today, as the celestial canopy gleams with the Prakash Purab (Illumination Day), marking the arrival of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, the heartbeat of the Sikh Panth resonates with divinity. With deep reverence and joy, we celebrate the Rider of the Blue Steed—the epitome of love and excellence, nurturing within the Sikh community a symphony of refinement in music, art, and literature.
In this spirit, the Master-Mentor reminds us that Divine qualities flourish within us only when we seek excellence by gathering what is essential. The Guru directs us inwards, to what awakens and elevates our very beings: remembrance of IkOankar (the One).
The Guru calls us to awaken from the poisons of attachment and embrace a life of principled living and remembrance. When we internalize this, we begin to experience Nam (Identification), and we are released from the pulls and distractions of the world. Through Nam, we honor our self-sovereignty. Reliance on external powers fades away. Instead of running from the One, we run toward the One—the only refuge, the only anchor through life and death. In this very anchoring begins our transformation. We begin to cultivate Divine qualities and become Divine-like. We begin to transform.
As we bow in gratitude and awe, may our beings resonate with the Sabad-Wisdom, and may the fragrance of the Guru’s teachings permeate our lives, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions each day.
On this Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, let us honor the Guru by living the Guru’s love, justice, grace, and excellence in every moment of our lives. Let us continue to paint the world with the hues of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib’s enduring legacy.
May we bloom in Love through the Guru’s Sabad-Wisdom.
May we become Beloved-like.
With reverence and love,
The SikhRI Team
