So unexpectedly, so swiftly this year is coming to a close, with another one about to start. And, as always, I am excited to let you know what SikhRI has been up to.

First, we successfully kicked off our new State of the Panth series with a report titled Who is a Sikh? exploring Sikh identity today. Our team invested a lot of energy into creating something we believe the Panth needs, and the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Second, none other than Bhai Kultar Singh, the scion of the most distinguished lineage in the world of Gurmat Sangit, will be teaching our new online course Introduction to Sabad Kirtan, launching on December 22. Register today.

Every week on social media in 2017, we presented you with a Sabad of the Week, trans-created in contemporary English along with a commentary enabling you to truly savor it. Now, 52 Sabads later, it’s a good time to go over them and reflect on the inner growth that we’ve experienced this year. And while doing so, make sure to take a look at our collection of webinars, covering Gurbani, Sikh history, contemporary issues, and much more.

As you are well aware, SikhRI’s mission is to become the oasis of Sikh learning and spread the fragrance and flavor of Sikhi over anyone willing to learn. During the last 16 years, SikhRI has become a major organization in Sikh education, with tens of thousands of people consuming our content in a manner convenient for them. The work, however, is far from over. We aim to be the go-to source of Sikh knowledge online, giving everyone an equal opportunity to absorb and internalize the wisdom of the Gurus, regardless of their acquaintance with Sikhi.

Earlier this fall, we privately shared a fundraising deck with a few of our most committed donors. Now, after seeing the high level of engagement, I’d like to make that deck available to all of you. As a not-for-profit, SikhRI gets most of its operating budget from donors like you. Indeed, it’s you who lead us toward making our mission a reality.
