The Board of Directors of the Sikh Research Institute (SikhRI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gunvir Singh (Baveja) as its next Executive Director.
Gunvir brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors. As an entrepreneur, he founded, successfully scaled, and sold his own security company, eVigilant Security. He also serves on the boards of Sikh American Legal Defense Education Fund and Sikh Human Development Fund.
“Gunvir has a proven track record of providing strategic vision, growing organizations, and delivering results,” said SikhRI Board Chair, Jaswinder Singh (Chadha). “We’re excited to have him lead our next phase of growth.” “I appreciate the board’s confidence in me, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead such a great organization,” said Gunvir Singh. “SikhRI has made a profound impact on the Sikh world. I’m inspired to continue building on our legacy of helping Sikhs lead Guru-inspired lives.”
As part of the leadership transition, Kulvir Singh (Gill) will return to his role on the board. “It’s been an honor serving as SikhRI’s Executive Director on an interim volunteer basis over the past 18 months. The SikhRI team has flourished under the toughest of circumstances during this pandemic. I’m excited to work with Gunvir to ensure our continued success,” said Kulvir Singh.
Gunvir will work directly with our board, advisory council, and major donors to strengthen the foundations of SikhRI, build out our core competencies, and set us up for long-term success. Gunvir is based out of Virginia, USA, and formally starts on 2 August 2021.
