In the Light of the Tenth Sovereign: A Conversation
This video presents a rich and reflective book conversation on Guru Gobind Singh Sahib: Life, Vision & Wisdom, authored by Harinder Singh, marking the 350th anniversary of the Gurgaddi (Coronation) of the Tenth Guru.

Recorded in Chandigarh, the dialogue, featuring Harinder Singh — author, educator, and co-founder of SikhRI — and Journalist & Author Roopinder Singh, invites viewers to engage deeply with the life, vision, and the eternal wisdom of the Tenth Sovereign. Through history, poetry, Gurmat-centered reflection, and lived experience, the conversation explores Guru Gobind Singh Sahib not only as a historical figure but as a timeless embodiment of divine wisdom on sovereignty, freedom, love, justice, and human dignity.

Key themes explored include:

  • Guru Gobind Singh Sahib’s vision of sovereignty and self-sovereignty
  • The continuity of Guru Nanak Sahib–Guru Gobind Singh Sahib thought
  • Nam, Sabad, and lived spirituality
  • Anandpur Sahib as an idea and a blueprint, not just a place
  • Love (prem / ishq) as discipline, responsibility, and courage
  • Khalsa as a collective expression of Guru’s vision
  • Reading Sikh history with sensitivity, humility, and context

Rooted in the luminous compositions of Sabad Hajare and the voices of the Guru’s court poets, the conversation challenges binaries and invites listeners to move beyond polarisation toward deeper understanding.
