The dictionary describes the word ‘Inspire’ as "to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural”. Guru Sahib tells us in his Bani that if you want to create a prodigy tell your children stories of their ancestors. One such story for our children is the life of the Char Sahibzade! This webinar looks at the lives of the 4 Sahibzadey and takes a close look at the "code" that they lived by. Some questions that we will answer together are: What were some key values and how do we know?

Peter Kirn works on a 56-acre raw milk dairy in southern Maine. He earned his MFA in poetry from Drew University in New Jersey. His poems appear or are forthcoming in The Normal School Literary Journal, Organs of Vision & Speech, Otis Nebula and Upstairs at Duroc. His first collection of poetry, the intimacy with which stone combusts & praising the nervous life, will be published this winter. Summary: The work of Bhai Vir Singh arrived in my hands at precisely the right time. In his work I found & continue to find a voice & worldview which is ecstatic but not inhuman, serious but not overly dramatic. I found love poems in which the love is requited and unrequited at once—the speaker’s love & attention simultaneously assuaged and left lingering; and speakers who often arrive at a place of peace with struggle without finding its end. His work continues to: transform my worldview, rattle my certainties, and renew my capacity for wonder, clarity & openness. This presentation will look closely at several of Bhai Vir Singh’s poems as a study of exactly how his work performs the tightrope walk of clarity and nuance in the face of ecstasy, wonder and intense desire, and ultimately investigate how & why his work can always be relied upon for guidance & focus “When we get fixed on things we look at.”

In the tradition of Guru-Chela, and as flag bearers of Guru Nanak’s message, Sikh’s have a moral obligation to propagate and spread the seeds of the universal paradigm of Oneness (IK Oankar) across political and cultural boundaries. This LIV Webinar will aim to address the question: How do we apply Guru Nanak’s message globally? The webinar will do so by first engaging the Sangat in an honest and collective introspection on the state of the panth with a view to understand what barriers - political, social and individual - stand in the way and prevent us from becoming foot soldiers in the army of Nanak. The second part of the Webinar will share the outline of a project conceived by a group of Sikhs who believe that the best way spread the message of Guru Nanak is to become personifications of the Sikhi. The project: “Young Minds: Sikh Global Leadership of the Future” is aimed at seeding young minds with the message of Sikhi, preparing the soil for global leadership of tomorrow. The Webinar will share specifics of the project and invite the Sangat to participate. About the presenter? Ravinder Singh spent his formative years in Singapore and Delhi.
