In Part 3, Santbir Singh examines the mass mobilizations that transformed the Gurdwara Reform Movement. Through case studies including Guru ka Bagh Morcha, the Keys Morcha, and Jaito, this session explores nonviolent resistance, jatha organization, community fundraising, the contributions of women and the Sikh diaspora, and the events leading to the Sikh Gurdwaras Act of 1925.

Research Associate

Santbir Singh is a Research Associate with SikhRI. He is currently doing his Ph.D. in Sociology at York University. His graduate research focuses on Sikh activism and the inherent relationship between Sikhi and anarchism explored through historical and contemporary Sikh movements, such as the Kisān Morcha (Farmer’s Protests) of 2020-2021.
