“I think if we start having deeper discussions about the significance of the Panj Piare and the role of the Guru Granth and the Guru Panth, then the children will relate to it more, as will the adults…"

Jasmine Kaur has served as the Director of Education with SikhRI for over eight years. She was the coordinator and chief developer of the Sojhi - Gurmat and Panjabi Education Resource.

“I think if we start having deeper discussions about the significance of the Panj Piare and the role of the Guru Granth and the Guru Panth, then the children will relate to it more, as will the adults…How, within our local communities, are we looking at them as mentors? Are we trying to take guidance with them along with the guidance from the Guru Granth Sahib Ji,” she asks.

From now until Vaisakhi, the SikhRI team will reflect and share their perspective of Vaisakhi. Featuring speakers unique in their backgrounds, countries, and experiences, we hope the “Countdown to Vaisakhi” video series will ignite a spark in you to reflect on your personal connection to Vaisakhi.
