In the Sikh tradition, the Amrit Ceremony is the initiation into the Khalsa, a path of full declaration to the Divine and service to humanity.

Amrit means “beyond death,” a connection to the Divine.

In the Sikh paradigm we understand Amrit as the immortalizing nectar—anything that helps us Identify with the immortal Divine. This Amrit is essential for everyone in this world, because everyone needs some way to identify with the Divine.

In the Sikh tradition, the Amrit Ceremony is the initiation into the Khalsa, a path of full declaration to the Divine and service to humanity. While every person needs Amrit as that which helps us Identify with the Divine, the Amrit ceremony is required for those who wish to formally join the Khalsa and represent Sikh ideals.
