We will discuss how the Guru has influenced & inspired and how they have incorporated the Guru's message in their lives.

We look at what the Guru means in the Guru Granth Sahib, Sikh history and tradition, among others including the larger narrative and how this has influenced & inspired others. Kulvir Singh, Board Chair, SikhRI Canada & Seva Food Bank, explores the Guru-Personality of the Ten Nanaks and the qualities they embodied through a historical perspective. He also looks at the relevance of the Guru’s message for Sikhs and beyond in today’s world.

In this interactive workshop, students will learn about the personality, achievements, and legacy of Guru Gobind Singh. The workshop will also reinforce the basic Sikhi 101 principles and incorporate the ideas of identity, virtues and behavior of Khalsa through an activity and discussion.

In this Kids Workshop, children explore ‘What Nam is?’ through a series of discussions centered around understanding the difference between uttering the many different names of the Divine and living ‘Nam’.
Kultar's Mime is a devised play that blends painting, poetry, theater and music to tell the stories of Sikh children who survived the 1984 Delhi massacre that was organized in the wake of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination. A collective of young Jewish artists decides to commemorate a 1903 Pogrom that targeted Jews in the Russian town of Kishinev.
This Sidak event provides participants aged 18-39 a 2.5-hour glimpse into the 2-week Sidak summer leadership program. Prospective Sidakers will get a chance to preview learning and sharing via the curated content and the inspired facilitators.

What is the language of violence? How do we find language for translating the unspeakable? Who speaks for those who suffer violence?

The Sikh world refers to ten founder personalities as well as the Guru Granth and the Khalsa Panth as the Guru. Guru Nanak Sahib considered “Sabad” to be the Guru. This conversation will dive deep into the Sikh context of what Guru is, “Gurgaddi” as the enthronement to the status of the Guru in Sikh tradition, and how the eternal co-Guruship came about by the Command of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib to Granth-Panth. Within a month of this conversation are the first Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib and its Gurgaddi, Gurgaddi Purabs of Guru Nanaks II, IV, V & VIII.
