In this second lesson on Guru Teghbahadar Sahib Ji, we explore the themes of courage, truth, and inner strength through two powerful stories.

The episode begins with Makhan Shah Lubana, a brave merchant caught in a terrifying storm at sea. In that desperate moment, he made a heartfelt promise: “If I survive, I will offer five hundred gold coins to the Guru in gratitude.”

After surviving, Makhan Shah travels to Bakala to fulfill his promise—but he finds 22 individuals all claiming to be the Guru! To test them, he offers each of them just two gold coins. Everyone quietly accepts them… until he meets Guru Teghbahadar Sahib Ji.

The Guru looks at him and says:
“Why only two coins? Didn’t you promise five hundred?”
That was the moment.
Makhan Shah knew—this was the True Guru. The Knower of hearts.

Through these stories, we begin to understand why Guru Teghbahadar Sahib Ji is remembered as a guiding light of truth, humility, and spiritual insight—a beacon who saw beyond words and appearances, straight into the heart.
