Sohila is often regarded as the song of bliss, the song of praise, or the wedding songs. The praises that we need to sing are the praises of the Fearless One, the Nirbhao. Once we sing such praises, we adopt them, and they become a part of us.

Sohila is often regarded as the song of bliss, the song of praise, or the wedding songs. The praises that we need to sing are the praises of the Fearless One, the Nirbhao. Once we sing such praises, we adopt them, and they become a part of us. With such, we experience a sense of happiness, calmness, and ease, or what we refer to as sukh (comfort).

As we dive deeper, we learn that Sohila is focused on praise. What is the motive of praise? To absorb the qualities of the on, we’re praising. In Gurbani ( (Infinite Wisdom in the Guru Granth Sahib), we see that we’re always praising IkOankar (One Universal Integrative Force, 1Force, the One).
