Sabad is Infinite; we are very finite. This is our understanding at the moment, which was different yesterday and may evolve tomorrow, as we deepen our relationship with the Sabad. In this trans-creation, we have chosen to keep the repeating words in the Sabad same. We aspire to learn and retain the Divine attribute as used in the original Sabad and avoid terms like God or Lord.

When Guru’s hand was placed on my forehead,
All-Pervasive’s jewel-like Nam¹ came to reside in my heart.
Through Guru’s gift of Nam, many life-times
of evilest pain and debt were removed.  1.

My mind recites Charmer-Divine’s Nam, the source of all wealth.
Perfect Guru instilled All-Pervasive’s Nam—without Nam life is pointless.  Reflect.

Without Guru, the self-centered are foolish,
Every day remain trapped in illusion.
Never serving at the feet of Goodness,
Entire lives become worthless.  2.

Those serving at the feet-base of Goodness-Guru
become Master’s own and lives become fruitful.
O Master of the Universe, All-Pervasive, grace me
to be the votary of the votary of Your votaries.  3.

We are blind, wisdom-less, unwise… How can we walk the Path?
O Guru, grant us the blind ones,
Your hem so commoner Nanak
may walk in harmony.  4.

Maharani Jind Kaur: The Last Queen of Panjab

Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s death in 1839 left a big void in the rule of the Sikh kingdom, which led to the annexation of Panjab by the British. His throne was inherited by multiple claimant heirs, none of whom could survive the intrigues and the schemings of the succession war in the royal court. Maharani Jind Kaur’s story is the narrative of a brave woman, who through all the trials and tribulations of the succession war, with all her faults, proved her mettle as a regent to the young Maharaja Duleep Singh, while also maneuvering through the diplomatic chicaneries of the British to the extent that even the British were wary of her.

Sikhi & Sexuality

Sexuality is a confusing and often avoided topic. It is generally relegated to being a "private" matter, and therefore not openly discussed or engaged with, even within close circles and small communities. Due to the taboo of discussing sexuality, many people struggle individually, often turning to religion for guidance or, more concretely, moral pronouncements.
