Arpinder Kaur, has put together a PowerPoint presentation which features Sikh history, Panjabi poetry, and emotional stories of the Sikh homeland. From the popular sites like Panja Sahib & Nankana Sahib, Waris Shah's tomb, Dargah of Bulle Shah & Pir Mian Mir, to place of Martydom of Akali Phula Singh and countless mothers from torture chambers of Zakhira Khan, the presentation captures not only the history but also integrates the Sikh teachings to both the young and the old.
In ways both open and insightful, the discussion will centre around diversity within the Sikh community. Shattering normative ideas of the ideal Sikh, this event will feature conversations between Sikhs of the Irish-American, Black-American and Punjabi-American communities.
A journey across West Panjab, North-West Frontier and Pakistan Administered Kashmir, delving into the vestiges of a community compelled to move eastwards owing to the partition of the Indian sub-continent.

Join us as Amardeep Singh shares his journies and experiences on Exploring the Sikh Legacy in Pakistan & the Social-Cultural Impact of the Partition. During a personal visit to Pakistan in 2014, a journey that took him across 36 cities and villages, Amardeep felt it was important for posterity to document his explorations. In Jan 2017, he undertook another journey, traveling extensively to 90 cities and villages across Sindh, Balochistan, Pakistan Administered Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Panjab.

Dr. Ishmeet Kaur, a professor at the University of Gujarat, will help us explore the literary and artistic response to the Pogroms. Dr. Shruti Devgan, a professor at Bowdoin College, has researched in the diasporic, 1st, and 2nd generation response to the events of 1984 and how the events have been commemorated digitally. Finally, Mr. Ryan Singh Kohli, a leading public law practitioner in the UK, will share his work with Sardar HS Phoolka in the struggle for legal justice for the victims of November 1984.
