Amrita “Ami” Kaur Dang is a vocalist, sitarist, and composer/producer from Baltimore, MD, and her family hails from Panjab & New Delhi, India.

Anam Zakaria is the author 1971: A People's History from Bangladesh, Pakistan and India (2019), Between the Great Divide: A Journey into Pakistan-administered Kashmir (2018) and The Footprints of Partition: Narratives of Four Generations of Pakistanis and Indians (2015), which won her the 2017 KLF-German Peace Prize. 

Anokh Singh is a 3rd-year Psychiatry Resident at UC Davis Medical Center. Originally from San Jose, CA, he completed his Masters and Medical degree at Touro University California. 

Anupreet Kaur serves as the Sidak coordinator. She is also a Secondary Vice Principal in Surrey, British Columbia. She is passionate about helping children and youth develop into lifelong learners.

Dr. Geetanjali Singh Chanda is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Ashoka University. She has also been Senior Lecturer in the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Yale University, where she taught for 15 years.

Ek Ong Kaar Kaur Khalsa has a great love for the mystical traditions of the East. Her other great love is writing. These two loves come together in her translations of Gurbani. She graduated in 1992 from Rice University in Houston, Texas, with a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies and a concentration in English Literature. 

Fatima Fayyaz is a scholar of Persian literature who studies Central Asian hagiographical Persian literature, contemporary Afghan Persian poetry and prose, Persian epics, and South Asian mystic literature. 

Gauri Gill earned a BFA (Applied Art) from the College of Art, New Delhi, BFA (Photography) from Parsons School of Design/The New School, New York, and MFA (Art) from Stanford University, California. 

Gurleen Kaur is a 2017 Sidak Alum. She first became heavily engaged in conversations on gender disparities during her time at UC Berkeley where she and her college friends became co-founders of an initiative called Kaur Voices -- an event dedicated to giving space to the voices of Punjabi women through art, poetry, and performance. 

Gurmeet Kaur is a children’s author, storyteller, and teacher of the Punjabi language. 

Dr. Gurpal Singh Bhuller, an Orthopedic Surgeon in Chester, Virginia, served on Sikh Research Institute’s Board of Directors since the organization’s inception until 2012.

Gurpartap Singh is currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science at Brown University. Having previously participated in Sidak in 2022, he is excited to embark on another journey with the program. He notably completed Sikhi 201, an experience that enriched his learning and resulted in lasting friendships and spiritual connections.

Dr. Harbans Lal is the Ambassador of the Parliament of World Religions. He is Emeritus Professor and Chairman, of the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience, at the University North Texas Health Science Center.

Prof. Virk received his Masters in Physics from AMU, Aligarh (1963) and Doctorate in Nuclear Physics from Marie Curie University, Paris (France) in 1972. His research interests are manifold: Nuclear & Radiation Physics; Geochronology; Earthquakes & Environment; Ion Tracks & Nanotechnology; History & Philosophy of Science. 

Harinder Singh is the Senior Fellow at the Sikh Research Institute. He holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University, an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas, and an MPhil from Punjab University in the linguistics of the Guru Granth Sahib. 

Harjeet Kaur Virdi is the Product Line Lead for Development IT at Merck Animal Health, overseeing Clinical IT, Pharmacovigilance IT, and Regulatory IT portfolios while driving innovation, compliance, and business continuity. With over two decades at Merck, she has held progressive roles in IT and champions Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in the workplace.

Harjinder Singh ‘Gharsana’ is SikhRI’s Research Associate, Gurbani Linguistics.

Harleen Kaur is a community organizer, educator, and scholar. A Sociology PhD candidate at UCLA, she studies the intersection of racialization, collective trauma, and nationalism through the story of the Sikh diaspora and our quest for belonging. 

Harmandeep (Harman) Kaur Gill is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Audit and Assurance partner at Deloitte LLP (Canada), specializing in not-for-profit and government public sectors.

Harminder Singh Jassal currently works with the Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Senior Budget Analyst. 

Harpreet Singh is a member of the faculty in the Department of South Asian Studies at Harvard University. He received his PhD in South Asian Religions from the Committee of the Study of Religion at Harvard in 2012.

Harvinder Singh Phoolka is a Senior Advocate of Delhi High Court, politician, human rights activist, and author. He served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly.

Dr. Inder Jit "I.J." Singh came to the United States in 1960 on a Murry & Leonie Guggenheim Foundation fellowship and is professor emeritus of anatomical sciences at New York University.

Jasleen Kaur is a Research Associate at the Sikh Research Institute. She has received a Religious Studies B.A./M.A. from the University of Virginia, focusing on South Asian Religions through the lens of literature and poetry.

Nadhra Shahbaz Khan is Associate Professor of art history at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. A specialist in the history of art and architecture of the Punjab from the sixteenth to the early twentieth century, her research covers the visual and material culture of this region during the Mughal, Sikh, and colonial periods.

Nikky-Guninder Kaur Singh is a Crawford Professor and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Colby College in the United States. Her interests are centered around poetics and feminist issues. 

Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay embarked on a career in journalism in the early 1980s and is best known for reportage and analysis on the rise of Hindu organisations, their politics and agitations.

Palwinder Kaur Gill is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who is currently working full time with Provincial Health Service Authorities as a trauma specialist. She also works part-time with Abbotsford Community Services, focusing on populations involved in domestic violence.

His graduate research focuses on Sikh activism and the inherent relationship between Sikhi and anarchism explored through historical and contemporary Sikh movements, such as the Kisān Morcha (Farmer’s Protests) of 2020-2021.

Shauna Singh Baldwin is co-author of A Foreign Visitor's Survival Guide to America. Her play, We Are So Different Now, in which Draupadi of the Mahabharat leads an over-privileged young woman to feminism, premiered in Toronto in 2016. 

Dr. Shimi Kang is an award-winning, Harvard-trained psychiatrist, researcher, media expert, and international keynote speaker.

Sirdar Kapur Singh was a Sikh theologian, political thinker, parliamentarian and a prolific writer adept at very fine articulation of Sikh thought in the contemporary times.

Sucheta Mahajan retired as Professor at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been Gillespie Visiting Professor at the College of Wooster, Ohio, US, a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center, and a Visiting Professor at the Maison des Sciences de l' homme, Paris.

Suchitra Vijayan is an essayist, lawyer, and photographer working across oral history, state violence, and visual storytelling.
